SOPORE, JULY 1: The Jammu Kashmir Police along with 22 RR and 179 Bn of CRPF on Sunday night apprehended a terror associate in Sopore’s Machipora, Bomai area along with arms, ammunition and explosives.
Giving details, sources said that the police, RR and CRPF personnel had set up a joint naka in the area when around 7.40 pm, they intercepted one white coloured Maruti swift bearing registration No. JK01AK-4452 coming from Bomai towards Machipora.
On being signaled to stop, the driver tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully by the alert naka party.
During the questioning he disclosed his identity as Waheed ul Zahoor S/O Zahoor ul Rahim R/O Hadipora, Rafiabad A/P Mustafabad HMT Srinagar. During the search, a large number of arms/ammunition and other Incriminating material were recovered from the vehicle. a Turkish pistol silencer and incriminating IED material.
A case has been registered at the Bomai police station and investigations are in progress. More recoveries are expected, sources added.
