One more militant killed by J&K Police in Kathua

JAMMU, JUNE 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday killed the second militant also during continued operation in Saida village in Kathua district.

Both the militants, who appeared to have freshly infiltrated into Kathua’s Hiranagar sector from across the international border with Pakistan,  had entered a house in the village last night and asked for water. As the male members of the house tried to flee, they had opened fire injuring one of them.

The police along with paramilitary forces had reached the village and neutralized one of the militants, while other had managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

On Wednesday morning, as the police and paramilitary forces resumed their operation, the surviving militant opened fire killing a CRPF personnel.

Sources said that searches were still in progress in the area to rule out the possibility of any more militant hiding there.
