Three soldiers hurt in mine explosion in Mendhar

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 1:
Three Indian soldiers were injured in a landmine explosion on Wednesday near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

The mine explosion took place in Phagwara Gali area of Mankote sector when a petrol party along the LoC inadvertently stepped over a landmine, official sources said.

The injured were evacuated to a nearby medical facility and later two of them were referred to a military hospital in Rajouri for specialised treatment.

As part of an anti-infiltration obstacle system, the forward areas are dotted with landmines which sometimes get washed away by rains resulting in such types of accidents, sources said.
