JAMMU, MAY 19: The Jammu and Kashmir Police, in what may be called a prized catch, on Friday apprehended a 28-year-old lady alleged to be one of the main suppliers of heroin across Jammu province.

Identified as Jano Bibi alias “Bhabhi’’ wife of Murad Ali of Sarore near Industrial Estate of Bari Brahmana, Samba SSP Benam Tosh said that she was in various cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The police was looking for her for the past nearly five years, but she always evaded her apprehension by frequently changing her hideouts and faking her identity. Finally, she fell into the trap laid by female cops when she came to SIDCO Complex in Samba town, he said.

Collecting consignments of heroin from Punjab, she had been further supplying it small drug peddlers for sale among youth in all the ten districts of Jammu province, Samba SSP said. She was arrested by a police team headed by Incharge of Samba’s SIDCO Police Post, Deepika Jalotra.
