J&K | On Jan 7, at around 7 pm alert troops observed suspicious movement of 2 terrorists/ infiltrators who were trying to sneak & cross LOC in the Balakot sector of Poonch district: Brigadier P Acharya, Commander 13 Sector Rashtriya Rifles

The troops on the fence &LOC were alerted, at around 7.45 pm, a loud explosion due to land mines had been initiated by the terrorist after that at approx 7.50 pm troops saw movement near the fence: Brigadier P Acharya

Troops & terrorists were engaged in firing & terrorists were brought down. On Jan 8, troops commenced the search and found 2 bodies, heavy weapons, explosives & magazines. The search still continues: Brigadier P Acharya, Commander 13 Sector Rashtriya Rifles
