REASI, SEPTEMBER 18: A mother and her son were killed, while her husband and her daughter injured in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district on Sunday.
Identifying the deceased as Sakeena Begum (40) and her son Imtiyaz Ahmad (20), police said that the accident took place near Shila Shajroo on the Reasi-Mahore road around 7 am.
Though the cause of accident is yet to be ascertained, sources said that the ill-fated car in which the victims were travelling, skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge after the driver may have lost control over the steering while negotiating a sharp turn.
The injured – Abdul Majid (45) and Nazmeen Kousar (15) have been hospitalised. Their condition was stated to be serious.
The police have registered a case in the matter and started investigations.
