KISHTWAR, AUGUST 9: The 17 Rashtriya Rifles (Maratha Light Infantry), in a first of its kind and unique initiative, organized a Tiranga horse rally involving nomadic Gujjars and Bakarwals in Jammu and Kashmir’s remote Dachhan area of Kishtwar district.

The rally which formed part of the series of activities under the aegis of Azad Ka Amrit Mahotsav – Har Ghar Tiranga, being organized by Indian Army in the run up to commemorate 75th year of the country’s independence started from Sondar and culminated at Dhanrashi with the hoisting of national tri colour.

The horse rally was organised by 17 Rashtriya Rifles (MARATHA LIGHT INFANTRY) to amplify the awareness of “Har Ghar Tiranga”, the Govt of India initiative to inculcate not only a personal connect between the citizens of India and the National Flag, but also an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building and invoke feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people in the remotest and cut off region of Dachhan.
