Three members of a family among 4 killed in Valley as heavy rains, hailstorm & gusty winds cause havoc in J&K

SRINAGAR, MAY 9: Three members of a family were among four people killed as heavy rains, hail storm and gusty winds caused havoc across Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening.
Giving details, sources said that a woman and her two sons were killed after a cloudburst hit Chandpora village in Cental Kashmir’s Budgam district.   The deceased have been identified as Boori Begum(45) wife of Mohammad Saleem Mansoori and her two sons,  Mohammad Rayees Mansoori (21) and Kaiss Mansoori  (17), residents of Khwaday in UP’s Bareilly district. 
The family had been working at a brick kiln in the area.
Soon after the incident, sources said that that trio were shifted to district hospital where doctors declared them dead.
Meanwhile, a 34-year-old woman was killed after she was hit by a tin-sheet blown away from a rooftop during gusty winds in Botengo area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag.  Identifying the deceased as Meenu Jan wife of Khursheed Ahmad, source’s said that she came under the sheet during a heavy windstorm near Habkhatoon petrol pump Batangoo. She was taken to GMC Anantnag where she succumbed to her injuries.
Sources said that heavy hailstorm also struck in various parts of the UT causing havoc on fruit bearing trees. 
The hostile weather disunited normal life for few hours in the evening as most areas across J&K were plunged into darkness. The power later got restored around 9 pm.
However, the Jammu-Srinagar national highway remained open for vehicular traffic.
