JAMMU, OCTOBER 16: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday terminated two employees including Anees-ul-Islam, grandson of the late Syed Ali Shah Geelani, leader of the separatist Hurriyat Conference.
Anees was appointed as research officer at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre under J&K Tourism Department in 2016.
It also dismissed from service Farooq Ahmad Butt, a government school teacher in Doda. He was appointed on contract basis in 2005 and his services were regularized in 2010.
Farooq Ahmad’s brother Mohammad Amin Butt is an active Lashkar-e-Toiba militant operating from Pakistan occupied Kashmir, sources said.
Both the terminations have been ordered after the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on the basis of information available and after considering the facts and circumstances of the case got satisfied that their activities are such as to warrant their dismissal from service.
He ordered their immediate dismissal from service after getting satisfied that under provisions of the sub clause (c) of the proviso to clause (2) of the Atricle 311 of the Constitution of India that in the interest of the security of the state, it is not expedient to hold enquiry into their cases.
The government has last month terminated the services of six government employees, including two police constables, for “anti-national activities” in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, taking the total sackings to over a dozen since April this year.
The six separate dismissal orders were issued by commissioner secretary, General Administration Department, on behalf of J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. The orders were cleared after a designated committee in the Union territory, formed in April this year to scrutinise and recommend cases under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution of India, recommended their removal from government services over their alleged links with terrorists.
