JAMMU, OCTOBER 10: In a set back to National Conference, two senior leaders and former ministers, Devender Singh Rana and Surjèét Singh Slathia. on Sunday resigned from the party.
Their resignations were accepted by National Conference president and former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah, according to a tweet by the party.
Younger brother of Union Minister of State in the PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh, and a prominent face in Jammu, Rana was provincial president of the National Conference. He was considered close to Abdullahs.
Announcing his resignation here, Rana left for Delhi. Though he did not divulge details of his future plans, sources said that he is likely to join the BJP.
