Jammu: UT’s Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday paid tributes to Army’s Junior Commissioned Officer Ram Singh who attained martyrdom fighting terrorists in Rajouri district’s Thanamandi area.
Subedar Ram Singh was leading an Army column when they were fired upon by the terrorists hiding behind the bushes. The JCO without caring for his personal safety immediately retaliated killing a terrorist on the spot. However, during the fire fight, he too sustained injuries and later breathed his last on way to hospital.
“My salute to his courage and valour,” wrote Sinha on his official Twitter hand. “The national will always remember Ram Singh for his bravery & indomitable spirit,” he added while conveying his deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
