Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh calls for audit of oxygen, ventilators at GMC

Taking note of large number of Covid related deaths, convenes high level meeting at short notice

New Delhi: Taking note of large number of COVID related deaths taking place at Government Medical College, Jammu, the Union Minister of State in the PMO, Dr Jitendra Sibgh, on Wednesday convened a high level meeting of the J&K administration and medical staff and asked for conducting audit of ventilators and oxygen, besides using the rooms in Chopra Nursing Home as Covid chambers for patients.

“Taking cognisance of disturbing reports from Govt Medical College #Jammu,convened a high level meeting of administration and medical staff,at short notice,” union minister disclosed in a tweet on his official Twitter handle. “Called for Audit of Ventilators and Oxygen, regular issue of bulletin updating about the status of #COVID management and 

keeping the public representatives informed about what is being done,” tweet added.

He also asked the administration to engage services of PG/UG Medical students, Nursing students and retired Doctors/ Paramedics, and ask the GMC doctors to surrender their rooms/chambers in Chopra Nursing Home so that

the same could be used as Covid chambers.

Advisor R R Bhatnagar, Financial Commissioner (Health) Atal Dullu, Div Com Raghav Langar, Principal Dr Shashi Sudan, among others, attended the meeting.
