Jammu, November 13: Three soldiers including a BSF sub inspector were among six people killed and seven others injured on Friday in intense mortar shelling by Pakistani troops without any provocation along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
Pointing out that the two soldiers and three civilians including a woman were killed in in Baramulla district’s Uri sector of North Kashmir, sources said, adding that they were evacuated to hospital. Later, BSF sub inspector Rakesh Dobhal succumbed to injuries.
The deceased civilians included Tahib Ahmad Mir of Sultan Daki, Irshad Ahmad of Sarai Bandi Kamlakote and Farooq Begum of Balakote. One civilian identified as Nasder Hussain of Kamalkote was seriously injured and he has been shifted to hospital.
Meanwhile, five civilians including a middle aged woman and two porters were injured in the shelling by Pakistani troops along Sawjian sector in Poonch district.
They have been identified as Hajra Begum, Touseef Ahmad and Mohammad Rashad both brothers, (all residents of Sawjian Maidan) and two porters working for BSF. The injured porters include Mohammad Afaraz and Mohammad Ibrahim, both residents of Sawjian Chaprian.
