Jammu, November 10: The UT administration on Tuesday announced suspension of vehicular traffic till further orders from Thursday evening on Kokernag-Margan Top-Marwah-Warwan road which connects Jammu division’s Kishtwar district with Anantnag in Kashmir Valley.
The decision has been taken to avoid any accident in view of the advisory issued by Indian Meteorological Department forecasting snowfall and rains in view of active western disturbance likely to affect Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh during November 13-15. According to it, there is likely to be moderate rain/snow in the plains of Kashmir and hilly areas of Jammu and Ladakh UT especially Drass, Zanskar and some areas of Leh district.
It expected a good snowfall at places like Gulmarg, Gurez etc., leading to temporary closure of Zojila Pass, Srinagar-Jammu national highway and the Mughal road. The Meteorological Department forecast fall in day temperature by 5-6 degrees and advised farmers to take appropriate actions.
