Jammu: Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education, Atal Dulloo, on Tuesday interacted with Senior Residents (SR) and Post Graduates (PGs) of Government Medical College regarding issues faced by them during COVID times.
The SRs and PGs apprised the FC of various issues like district residency program, working of interns, security in wards, electricity, and health insurance for all healthcare workers among other issues.
Regarding security issue, FC said that security has already been strengthened but it will further be upgraded if the need arises. He urged upon the participants to enroll themselves for Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme to get free of cost insurance cover for meeting their health care needs.
FC lauded the efforts of doctors, nurses and paramedics for working tirelessly in these tough times of global pandemic and assured mitigation of their problems as soon as possible.
Principal GMC, Dr. Shashi Sudhan Sharma, assured that the exams of 30 years old PGs will be conducted as soon as possible while other issues raised by the participants would also be taken care of.
The interactive session was attended by Ashwini Khajuria, Administrator GMC and Dr. A.D.S Manhas, Medical Superintendent GMC.
