Army rescues a critically ill nomad from higher reaches in Doda

DODA, JUNE 5: The Indian Army personnel on Wednesday carried a nomad Gujjar in critical condition on their back from higher reaches of Doda district to the nearest hospital and saved his life.

Identified as Salamudden, son of Shahbudeen of Paghthali in Kathua district, he had come from there to Bhalpadri to set up his dera. However, he got unconscious with very high fever and chest congestion. 

His wife approached the troops deployed near Bhalpadri for evacuation of the individual. Operational team of Indian Army battalion rushed to the location immediately and gave first aid to the individual. 

However, individual’s condition was serious and hence troops camel carried the individual and evacuated him from Bhalpadri to nearest hospital. With the terrain being highly treacherous and challenging the quick and brave action of the individuals of operational team of Indian Army saved individual’s precious life. 

Other individuals present at the dera and also the wife of the individual thanked the troops of Rashtriya Rifles for their selfless help for saving life of Salamudeen.
