-Ramban Police files chargesheet against 12 accused persons (including 01 absconder) in 300 crore Drug haul case before the Hon’ble court of special Judge NIA cases, Jammu.

 Ramban Police has filed chargesheet against 12 accused persons including an absconder in case FIR No 242/2023 u/s 8/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act, 467, 468, 471, 201, 489-C, 120-B, 121, 121-A, 122 IPC  13,18,21,23,38,39,40 UAPA, 4, 5, 6 Explosive substances Act, 3, 7, 25 Arms Act of Police station Banihal relating to recovery of 35 Kg 990 gram Diacetylmorphine (Heroin), .There was recovery of cash amounting to Rs (5, 37, 670000)five crore thirty seven lakh sixty seven thousand and subsequently recovery of mobile phones, fake R/Cs/D/Ls, fake Number plates of vehicles, cash counting machine, Arms/explosive and otherincriminating material was also affected.

This case pertains to initial recovery of 31 kg 314 grams of Diacetylmorphine (Heroin/Chitta) from 02 accused persons who were travelling in a innova car bearing registration No HR12CW-4925 and were intercepted by Police Party of P/S Banihal on 30-09-2023. Accordingly, case FIR No 242/2023 was registered at P/S Banihal and investigation set into motion.

Ramban Police, working on backward linkages arrested 05 more accused persons from Kashmir. On their disclosure/pointing out, cash amounting to Rs (43,17000) fourty three lakh seventeen thousand and contraband drug Heroin total weighing 4 kg 198 grams was recovered along with some explosive substance.

Police working on forward linkages conducted simultaneously searches in Punjab and Uttrakhand area andrecovered 478 grams contraband drug heroin, cash amounting to Rs. (4,94,50000) four crore ninety-four lakh fifty thousand, Eight (8) mobile phones, fake R/Cs, fake Number plates of vehicles, cash counting machine, fake D/Ls, Aadhar cards and some incriminating material. Arms were also recovered.

Accused persons with criminal intention to revive militancy in Jammu and Kashmir from illicit sale/purchase of narcotic drugs (heroin), provided/obtained narcotic drugs (Heroin). In furtherance of this they obtained (35) packets of heroin, sold/purchased the same to revive militancy in Jammu and Kashmir.

Further investigation of the case is under progress.
