Two pressure cooker IEDs, two pipe bombs containing 5 kg RDX each seized in Doda district

Doda: Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army on Thursday claimed to have busted a militant hideout with the recovery of two pressure cooker fitted IEDs and two pipe bombs filled with 5 kg RDX each among other items in Ghat area of Doda district.Senior police officers said that police received information about the presence of a hideout in a forest area of village Chakranti. Following this information, army and police launched a joint search operation in the area and found an underground hideout suspected to be used by militants in past.During the searches police party found some material including explosive items hidden in the hideout.Police said that that all the material was seized and hideout was busted. The seized material included, detonator 4, 12V Battery 1, electric wire 50 meters, two pressure cookers filled Improvised Explosive Devise, pipe bombs 2 No filled with 5 kg RDX each and other explosive devises. The material was kept in a plastic bag. Police said that the material was kept their by suspected militants. He said that presently no militant is active in Doda. However the material was suspected to be kept there when area was militancy infested.
