JAMMU, AUGUST 5: Jammu District Development Council member, Taranjit Singh Tony, and former minister Yash Pal Kundal have quit Aam Aadmi Party in Jammu and kashmir.

In a joint letter to AAP’s national Convenor and Delhi Chuef Minister Arvind Kejriwal, they alleged that party has become non functional in the UT.

Following is the full text of the letter:

Respected Arvind Kejriwal Ji,

It’s to bring to your kind notice a matter of concern regarding my association with AAP since I joined the party on April 8, 2022, due to the good governance model implemented in Delhi, followed by Punjab, and your people-friendly policies. I have always admired your commitment to good governance and people’s welfare.

However, it is unfortunate that the organizational functionaries like Prabharis and Seh Prabharis for responsible for reaching out to people have come to a grinding halt, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. One glaring example is the closure of the AAP office in Jammu for more than eight months.
No visible effort was made by Prabharis and Seh Prabharis to open the Party Head office in Jammu. Even they have not been responding telephone calls by party functionaries. Despite repeated requests and efforts to approach the individuals responsible for extending AAP’s activities, our appeals have fallen on deaf ears and blind eyes.

With a heavy heart, I hereby resign from the primary membership of AAP and from my position as Chairman of AAP Jammu and Kashmir for Administrative Engagement and Minority Affairs. All the parties have come to stand still in J&K. The closure of your office for the past more than eight months has left me with no other choice but to step down from the party. Panches, Sarpanches and all senior functionaries are all resigning today along with me.

Although it was a pleasant and fortunate journey to have known and met you, the prolonged closure of the party’s office has compelled me to resign. I am grateful for the enriching and knowledgeable journey I have had during my time with you.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors.

Thank you for your attention.

Most respectfully,
Taranjit Singh Tony
Yash pal Kundal
