NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi passed away on Friday morning at UN Mehta Heart Hospital in Ahmedabad where she was admitted for treatment.
She was 100. Also called Heeraba, she used to live with PM Narendra Modi’s younger brother Pankaj Modi at Raysan village near Gandhinagar city.
The Prime Minister used to regularly visit her at Raysan to spend time with her during his Gujarat visits.
Informing about her death, the Prime Minister posted a heartfelt tweet early this morning, “A glorious century rests at the feet of God… In Maa, I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for Ahmedabad after his mother died early this morning.
