JAMMU, OCTOBER 11: BSF cycle rally is being organized to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Independence Day, which will commence from BOP Octroi, Jammu and reach up to Bhuj, Gujarat from 13 Oct’ 2022. The rally will be flagged off at about 1000 am from BOP Octroi, Suchetagrh on 13 October by Sh Mukesh Singh, IPS, Addl DG, J&K Police.
This rally comprises of 19 cyclists from BSF and they will cover a distance of about 2112 Kms in 32 days passing through 25 cities of Jammu, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat. The rally will culminate on November 13, 2022.
This rally has been planned to spread the message of National Integration, Patriotism and Fraternity among people along India –Pak border area. Another motive of this cycle rally is to attract the youth to join BSF & other Security forces.
It is worth mentioning here that this is the second such cycle rally which will commence from Jammu. Last cycle rally was flagged off from BOP Octroi to Dandi, Gujarat from August 15, 2021 to October 2, 2021 under Fit India Movement.
D K Boora, IG BSF Jammu Frontier emphasised that the main purpose of this cycle rally is to spread health awareness among people specially border population and to show case the benefits of joining Border Security Force and other armed forces. It will also spread the use of cycle which is not only healthy and pollution free but will also promotes non-dependence on fuel.
