J&K | INDIAN ARMY CONSTRUCTS INSAANIYAT BRIDGE IN CHHATROO AREA OF KISHTWAR DISTRICT

Kishtwar: Indian Army in its continued efforts to reduce hardships of people of far flung areas, has constructed an iron foot bridge, naming it “INSANIYAT BRIDGE” at Zalla village in Chhatroo area of Kishtwar district.

Noteworthy to mention that recently a boy from Zalla village fell down from wooden log bridge, which led to demand of permanent bridge for Zalla village by locals.

They approached Indian Army for help and after assessing the requirement, local Rashtriya Rifles unit constructed a 45 feet long and 3 feet wide iron foot bridge for the people.

The bridge is strong enough to sustain load of 5-6 persons and can also be used for movement of cattles.

This initiative of the Army has further strengthened the bond with the Awam.

The foot bridge was inaugurated by Brigadier Pranab Misra, Commander 9 Sector Rashtriya Rifles in presence of civil administration and the other dignitaries and people of the area on 18 April 2022.

Dedicated to the People of the remote area, this iron foot bridge has reduced distance from the remote villages to Chhatroo town by Seven kilometers, thus bringing smiles on the faces of people, who are highly appreciating the efforts of Indian Army in mitigating their hardships.
