YOUTH EMPOWERMENT IN J&K

Jammu: Indian Army has always been taking multiple initiatives to engage the youth and local population of J&K in constructive activities and usher the region towards development. Krishna Ghati Brigade continues its efforts on youth empowerment, in which youth of border areas of district Poonch are being provided with a large number of professional courses cum job opportunities.

One such opportunity ‘The Hospitality Management Course’ was organised in association with Food and Craft Institute, Nagrota.

A total of 31 students were selected from border villages of Khari Karmara, Ajote, Jhallas & Mendhar in district Poonch (J&K). The 10-week course was conducted at Food and Craft Institute from 21 Dec 2021 to 08 Mar 2022. As of now, 8 students have been selected for internship by Barbeque Nation, Delhi and 5 students have been selected for industrial training at Ritz Manor Hotel, Jammu. To honour their motivation and hard work, a felicitation ceremony ‘Aap Ki Kahani- Aap Ki Zubani’ was organized at Gulpur where their experiences were shared with other boys and girls of this area.

They have stepped on the first rung of ladder of growth due to the opportunities provided by Indian Army. Now they have been trained to move on the desired pathway to pursue their dreams and ensure development of the region.

These boys have become an example of success and personality development in the region.
