NIA yesterday arrested an Al-Qaeda (AQIS/AGH) operative named Tawheed Ahmad Shah in conspiracy to carry out IED blast by Al-Qaeda in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier, NIA had arrested 5 accused persons in the case against whom charge sheet was filed on Jan 5,2022.

Investigation revealed that the arrested accused Tawheed was the mastermind of the conspiracy for recruitment & to commit terrorist acts in the name of AGH (Ansaar Gajwatul Hind); including procurement of arms, ammunition and explosive materials to be used for attacks in UP: NIA
