SUCHETGARH, FEBRURY 6: Jammu District Development Council (DDC) member from Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony, on Sunday accused the Delimitation Commission of working under the “microscopic supervision of BJP and RSS’’.

In a hard hitting statement here, the DDC Member said that the new constituencies have been carved out in Jammu and Kashmir to ensure that Jats, Sikhs, Muslims and Scheduled Castes do not form majority at any place as BJP, following farmers’ agitation apprehends that these communities are not going to vote for it. He accused BJP of back stabbing them through the Delimitation Commission.

He accused Delimitation Commission of committing a glaring monumental blunder by re-reserving the R S Pura assembly constituency even after 26 years of its reservation for scheduled castes.

Raising question mark over the independence of the members of the Delimitation Commission, he  saying that how they can justify the re-reservation of RS Pura even after 26 years of reservation. This has jeopardised the fate of the general category leaders in RS Pura  who had been waiting for 26 years to see end to reservation of RS Pura segment.

Tony said Sikhs formed a considerable number in Gandhi Nagar and RS Pura Constituencies, butf these have been divided in such a way that their numbers have considerably reduced at both the places. Similarly, it has proposed disbanding of the Jat dominant Suchetgarh constituency to suit the BJP, he added.

All this does not end here, they further reserved the constituencies of Jats and the glaring example is Ramgarh, RS Pura and Marh where Jats were having majority votes.

Alleging that the same game has been played against Muslim and Gujjar voters of Sunjwan, Bathindi and Chowadi, he appealed all the right thinking people to come forward and join hands to defeat BJP in the forthcoming elections for brighter future of youth, trade and industry in every nook and corner of the UT and the country as a whole.
