Jammu Kashmir Police bags the highest 115 PMGs announced of R-Day eve by MHA

JAMMU, JANUARY 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have got the highest 115 Police Medals for Gallantry (PMG) announced by the Central Government on the eve of Republic Day.

According to the list of awardees issued by Union Ministry of Home Affairs, a total of 189 police personnel figure in the list of awardees who will receive the PMG on Republic Day. 

IGP Mukesh Singh (now Additional Director General of Police), SSP Shridhar Patil and DIG Vivek Gupta were among 46 awardees who got the Police Medal for Gallantry for the second to fifth time. While Mukesh Singh and Shridhar Patil got it for the third time (2nd Bar to PMG), Vivek Gupta got it second time (1st Bar to PMG).

Apart from this, Mukesh Singh was among two top police officers in the rank of Additional Director General of Police, getting the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services. The other ADGP rank official included M K Sinha.

Fifteen police officials Police Medal for Meritorious Services.

UT’s Lt Governor Manoj Sinha congratulated all the gallantry award winners from Jammu and Kashmir Police, sayng “the entire nation is proud of you’’. “Your courage will be remembered for generations to come,’’ he added.

The Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh while congratulating the awardees said that “once again JKP bags the largest number of gallantry and other medals in the country’’.
