Tony seeks land swapping for Gharana wetland development-affected farmers
R S PURA, DECEMBER 8: Jammu District Development Council Member from Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony on Wednesday demanded that the government should provide alternate land to farmers who have been affected by government initiatives for the development of Gharana Wetland.
Addressing a gathering after the protest march taken out in support of the affected farmers, he also demanded a government job to one member of each affected family.
Other political leaders including former MP T S Bajwa, former minister R S Chib, Manmohan Ch, GS Sony and Sheikh Abdul Rehman also joined the protest march which passed through R S Pura Bazaar,
An over 32 Sarpanchs of the villages nearby also participated in the aforesaid march and raised voice of the affected farmers.
Later, the protest march culminated at SDM office.
