PDP’s decision to have alliance with BJP for govt formation post 2014 Aseembly polls ruined the future of J&K: Omar
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 30: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference vice-president, Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that PDP’s decision to have alliance with BJP in government formation after 2014 assembly polls ruined the future of J&K.
After assembly elections results in 2014, he had extended hand of friendship to late Mufti Mohammad Syed in order to save Jammu and Kashmir from wrong intentions of Bharatiya Janata Party, Omar said while addressing a public rally at Chatru in Kishtwar district. “I offered hand of friendship to Mufti Sahib in order to suggest him that the alliance with BJP will prove very dangerous for the state of Jammu and Kashmir and state will get ruined by this decision,” he added.
Omar said that he informed Mufti that he doesn’t have any vested interests of power as he had already served as CM of Jammu and Kashmir for six years.
“Neither my colleagues want to create alliance with the PDP. Without any conditions, National Conference will help your party (PDP) for making a government but al least do not create an alliance with those parties, which have wrong intentions about the Jammu and Kashmir state,” he said.
He said that, however, at that time, Mufti Sahib had his own obligations and decision so PDP created an alliance for which the people of J&K paid a huge price.
“Lamho ne khata ki, sadiyo ne saza paayi,” he said, and asked for how long will the people of J&K suffer because of that one decision of PDP? “All the assurances which were given to the people of J&K have proven false.”
He said that the government had claimed that abrogation of article 370 will bring peace, development and employment in J&K, but what is on ground is visible to everyone.
