JAMMU, NOVEMBER 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday detained three suspects from Ban Toll Plaza near Nagrota on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.
Travelling in an Innova vehicle bearing registration number DL-1ZB -8261 from Jammu to Srinagar, police is reported to have found them carrying huge cash. The seized Indian currency is in the denomination of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 currency notes.
While there has been no official word about it, sources said that cash was worth nearly Rs 30 lakh.
They have been identified as Fayaz Ahmed Dar of kulgam district, besides Umar Farooq and Mauzam Parvaiz, both Pulwama. However, none of them has been arrested so far.
One of them was stated to be an Apple trader, sources said, adding they have been handed over to Special Operation Group of Police for detailed questioning.
