JAMMU, OCTOBER 31: The Jammu Kashmir Police in Jammu Zone celebrated National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) across Jammu region on Sunday.
The main function was held at Gulshan Ground here where ADGP Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh, IPS, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, took the salute of parade.
The ADGP administered oath to the Police officers and Jawans. Contingents from Jammu Police, Armed, CRPF and SDRF took part in the colorful march past.
DIG Jammu Zone Atul Goyal, IPS, SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli, Zonal SSsP, Commandants besides officers/Jawans of Jammu district and of different units were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Mukesh Singh said that the National Unity Day function is an occasion to pay tributes to the Iron Man of India ‘Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’, the first Home Minister of the country for his contribution in the independence movement of India and for the unity and integrity of India.
The ADGP Jammu Zone urged all to take the pledge for internal security, integrity and sovereignty of the country. He said that this day is not only for men in uniform but for every single individual to contribute for unity and integrity of the country.
