JAMMU, OCTOBER 5: Thirty five students of a Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Mandi, in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir were on Tuesday tested positive for Coronavirus.
They were tested positive during a camp held by Health Department, said Mandi Tehsildar Shahzad Latief Khan. Their RTPCR Tests have been conducted for confirmation, he added.
Chief Education Officer, Poonch, ordered closure of the school for five days as a precautionary measure. He also ordered the Principal to ensure sanitisation of school premises including class rooms in consultation with the Block Medical Officer.
The school had reopened last week. During earlier Rapid Antigen Tests, all of them were tested negative.
Last week, thirty two students of a government school were tested positive during RAT test in Rajouri district’s Thanamandi area and they were sent to Covid Care Centre for isolation.
However, during RTPCR test conducted on them next day, all of them turned out to be negative.
The Rajouri Deputy Commissioner R K Shavan had ordered an enquiry into the matter and suspended the doctor under whose supervision RAT tests were conducted.
