Jammu, Sept 30: CBI here on Thursday claimed to have apprehended a junior engineer of the Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (JKPDCL) while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from an electricity consumer for settling his pending bills.

Identified as Vishal Bali of Subash Nagar, sources said that his apprehension came outside the industrial estate at Digiana on the outskirts of Jammu city. This followed a trap laid down by CBI after the receipt of a complaint against him.
The CBI officials later conducted searches at his Nai Basti office and Subash Nagar residence also.
