Militant associate held with grenades, cash
Srinagar: UT Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a militant associate in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district and seized from him Rs 13,000 in case and three grenades hidden in a bag full of charcoal. Identified as Asif Gull, he owed allegiance to Lashkar-e-Toiba, He was apprehended after his car was intercepted by a joint naka party of police and security forces personnel near Jehlum Stadium on the Baramulla-Handwara highway. During questioning, he also admitted that he was in contact with a local militant Abid, at present in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, besides some others.
Snowfall hits life in Lohai Malhar area
Kathua: Jammu Kashmir Apni Party leader Choudhary Yasir Ali on Tuesday appealed the administration to restore road connectivity in many panchayats in Lohai Malhar area of Kathua district, saying that heavy snowfall has snapped road link and power supply disrupting normal life in the area. He appealed the Kathua Deputy Commissioner, OP Bhagat to personally monitor the snow clearance work restoration of electricity supply in Panchayats like Machadi, Kindle, Badnota, Lohai Malhar and 20 others.
Leopard found dead in DKJ
Rajouri: A leopard was found dead in a forest area of Dehra Ki Gali in Rajouri district on Tuesday, officials said. Wildlife officials said that the carcass of a two-year-0ld leopard was found lying in the forest area of Dehra Ki Gali. A postmortem is being conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
