ARMY ORGNASIED TRAINING TO VILLAGE DEFENCE COMMITTEE MEMBERS FOR SKILL DEVELOPMENT AT MENDHAR.

Indian Army organised a Village Defence Committee (VDC) meet at Mendhar.

The VDCs play a significant part in assisting the forces in Counter Terrorism Operations, maintaining vigil over inimical elements and assisting in maintaining peace in the region.
 

The event was optimally utilised for imparting training on weapon handling, cleaning, musketry, firing and refreshing the individuals on weapon maintenance drills.

VDC Volunteers members displayed their training prowess and skills in weapon handling and firing in firing practices at Jhullas firing range. Indian Army assisted VDC members in further improving their self defence capabilities and laid emphasis on the important role of VDC and briefed them about the prevalent situation with respect to modus operandi of terrorists in order to execute swift and effective response. New Tactics being employed by anti-national elements and necessary action required to be taken to ensure sustained peace and prosperity in the region were also explained to them in detailed.

Meaningful interaction was carried out with civ administrative representatives and modalities for training of VDCs were discussed. The issue of old ammunition was raised with civil administration representatives during the meet by the VDCs.
