71 J&K Police men among President’s Police Medal for Meritorious, Distinguished services, Police medal for Gallantry
Jammu: Seventy One personnel of Jammu and Kashmir are among the awardees of the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished and Meritorious Services, besides Police Medal for Gallantry.
According to the list issued by Ministry of Home Affairs, while 52 have been awarded Police Medal for Gallantry, two have got President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services and 17 Police Medal for Meritorious Services.
One hundred seventy five Personnel of J&K Police have been awarded Jammu Kashmir Police Medal for Meritorious Service and Jammu Kashmir Police Medal for Gallantry on the occasion of Republic Day and 169 Jammu Kashmir Police Medal for Gallantry, while six officers have been awarded Jammu Kashmir Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
Director General of Police, J&K, Dilbag Singh congratulated the awardees and their families. In his message, he has said that the awards show the exemplary courage and dedication shown by police personnel in different fields for the nation. He has wished them more success and recognition in future.
President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Services have been awarded to ADGP Dr. S. D. Singh Jamwal and ADGP T. Namgyal, while Police Medal for Meritorious Service have been awarded to SSP Shakti Pathak, SSP Javid Ahmad Koul, SSP Shahid Mehraj Rather, SSP Dr. Ajeet Singh, SSP Altaf Ahmad Khan, SSP Rajeshwar Singh, SSP Sandeep Wazir, SSP Anita Sharma, SSP Baqar Samoon, SSP Rajesh Kumar Sharma, SSP Shamsher Hussain, SSP Khalil Ahmad Poswal, DySP Sunmati Gupta, SI Rishi Kumar, SI (M) Manzoor Ahmad Rather, HC Parshotam Dass Sharma and HC Gulzar Ahmed.
