J&K Police release sketch of militant behind Reasi attack, announce Rs 20 lakh award for information on him

JAMMU, JUNE 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday released the sketch of a militant involved in Sunday attack on pilgrims’ bus in Pouni area of Reasi district and announced an award of Rs 20 lakh for any “fruitful’’ information about him.

The sketch, according to police, has been prepared on the basis of disclosure and description of the injured pilgrims who had seen him opening fire on the bus from the roadside.

The police appealed people to provide information about the militant on phone number of SSP Reasi (9205571332), ASP Reasi (9419113159), DySP HQ Reasi (9419133499), SHO Pouni (7051003214), SHO Ransoo (7051003213) and PCR Reasi (9622856295).

Menwhile, more than 20 people have been picked up for questioning byu the police in connection with the militant attack on pilgrims’ bus in which nine people including seven pilgrims were killed and 38 others injured, sources said.

The police and security forces search parties have laid multi-directional cordon in Pouni-Taryath area, sources said, adding that nearly a dozen teams of police, army and CRPF are jointly working on two different axis to neutralize the militants.
