J&K | BSF Deploys Women Soldiers Along Pakistan Border

Srinagar: In minus 20 degrees and at an altitude of 14000 ft above sea level, these trained female soldiers have set an example for the women of the country. Trained in combat, patrol, night patrol and controlling the movement of terrorist cadres along the border areas. For these female soldiers, It’s a proud moment as they have set a path for the rest of the female soldiers to be deputed in any part and corner of the country. 

“We are always ready to perform your duty everywhere from Kashmir to Rajasthan. We are the first group of women who have been deputed at the Line of Control and have been provided with the best equipment and gear. We are performing our duty as our male counterparts.  Preeti Chaudhary, Female BSF Soldier. 

The female soldiers of the Border Security Forces have gone through a rigorous training in handling the latest arms and ammunition including rifles like INSAS, AK47, TAR and SLR. They have also been trained to work in high altitude areas where there is less oxygen, snow covered mountains and minus 20 degree temperatures. 

“We have been provided with the best of the gear. We make sure to protect the borders and are happy to be here as the first female group. The situation is difficult but we are here. Mandeep Kaur soldier said

”We were trained about everything like the environment and conditions. We are at the mobile check post, we do frisking and patrol and ambush. Premika Panna soldier said

Border Security Forces now they plan to put female soldiers across the LoC forward posts till mid of this year
