Army major killed, three soldiers injured in operation
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 22: One militant was killed on Wednesday in a joint encounter by Jammu Kashmir Police and security forces at Bazi Mal Upper in Kalakote area of Rajouri district.
Meanwhile, sources said that an army Major was also killed and three personnel injured in ongoing fire fight with militants who were hiding in dense forces. The injured soldiers have been evacuated to the hospital.
However, there has been no official statement from Army so far.
Police sources confirmed that the encounter was in progress since Wednesday morning with 5-6 heavily armed militants holed up inside dense forests. The encounter started after militants opened fire on a joint search party of police and security forces who had launched a cordon and search operation in the area for the past many days.
