Northern Army Commander visits Kokernag encounter site, reviews situation

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 16: The Northern Army Commander Lt Governal Upendra Dwivedi on Saturday reached Kokernag forests in Anantnag district to review operation situation as the security forces and police continued their searches for terrorists there for the fourth day.

A Defence PRO while giving details of Op Garol said #LtGenUpendraDwivedi #ArmyCdr, Northern Command reviewed the operational situation on the ongoing operations at #Kokernag forest area in #Anantnag.

“He was briefed by the ground commanders on the High Intensity Operations in which Hi-tech Equipment is being used for surveillance and delivery of firepower alongwith the high impact of precision fire being used by the forces,” the PRO added.

Three Army men including a colonel and a Major, besides a police DySP were killed on Wednesday in encounter with militants.
