One militant killed in encounter with army, police in Rajouri

JAMMU, JUNE 2: One militant was killed on Thursday in a joint operation by Army and Jammu Kashmir Police in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. 

Additional Director General of Police, Jammu, Mukesh Singh, according to his information, one militant has been killed.

The Army PRO Lt Colonel Devender Anand here said that “In a joint operation by Indian Army in coordination with JKP, the intelligence based ambushes noticed a suspicious movement in forest area of Dassal Gujran (near Rajouri) on the  night of June 1-2”.

“On being challenged by our troops, they were fired upon which was retaliated by our troops. Sporadic firing continued through out the night,” he said, adding that search operations were launched on first light by joint team of Indian Army and JKP.

two-three militants are belived to have been holed up in the forest area which has been cordoned by troops and police.
