Jammu: The Sabre warriors of Rising Star Corps peddled their way through the interiors of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and J&K, spreading awareness on the merits of Agnipath Scheme and to motivate young boys and girls to join Indian Army.
The Team comprising of one officer, one JCO & 08 Other Ranks was flagged off from North Portal of Atal Tunnel in Himachal Pradesh and cycled through the ardous challanges climbing 10,000 ft peaks thrice on their way to reach Balidan Stambh, Jammu today. The Expedition covered 620 kms over a period of 10 days.
The Expedition Team Interacted with the youth of various schools and colleges to include the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi and motivated the graduates of IIT to join Indian Army as Commissioned officers and contribute to the organization with the latest technological developments.
The Team also expressed it's gratitude to the frontline workers of Wild Life Conservation Team of Great Himalayan National park, Kullu for their unparallel efforts to save Wild Life in the country. At Regional Mountaineering Centre, McLeodganj, the team carried out adventure activities with the Basic Mountaineering Course students and motivated them to join Indian Army. In addition, the team also expressed condolences to the bereaved family of Braveheart Rifleman Rakesh Kumar at his native village Maheshgarh for his supreme sacrifice in the line of duty earlier March this year. The Team presented his father Ex-Naik Jigri Ram with a memento as a token of gratitude. Over this journey the cycling team interacted with various servicemen and veterans enroute at McLeodganj, Sadwan Khas & Jia (Yol Cantt) and shared thier experience and grievances.
The Expedition was aimed to encourage the spirit of adventure, espirit-de-corps and comradrie and obtained high popularity among the locals.
