JAMMU, AUGUST 17: A Pakistani militant and a police constable were injured in a scuffle on Wednesday when the former tried to snatch weapon from the cop and make good his escape in Phallian Mandal area near the international border in Jammu.
Identified as self styled Lashkar-E-Toiba commander Mohammad Ali alias Qasim alias Jehangir of Pakistan, police sources said that he along with injured police constable have been hospitalised. However, the condition of militant was critical, they added.
The militant had been coordinating terror activities from inside the jail, sources said. Following information about his activities, the militant was brought out of jail and taken to Phalian Mandal area near the border to affect recovery of weapons.
However, on reaching there, militant tried to snatch weapon from one of the police constable to make good his escape. In the ensuing scuffle, the AK 47 rifle went off injuring both of them, sources said.
Both the injured were rushed to hospital, while police have registered a case in the matter.
