Srinagar, 12 Jul 2022. A Cycling Expedition was flagged off from ‘Siachen War Memorial to Kargil War Memorial’ to pay tribute to the indomitable spirit of the Indian Army.

The expedition was flagged off on 12 July 2022 and consisted of three officers, two JCOs and 13 Other Ranks of Sura Soi Sappers, led by Captain Shiva Chouhan.

The cycling expedition will cover a distance of 508 kilometers in 11 days navigating through the tough terrain of Ladakh including Siachen Base Camp, Khardung La (17982 Ft) and Fotu La (13479 Ft). It will culminate at Kargil War Memorial on 23 July 2022 and pay homage to the Kargil war heroes who made supreme sacrifice in the service of the Nation during Operation Vijay.

The expedition team will endeavour to motivate local youth to join Indian Armed Forces, during their interactions enroute.
