JAMMU, JULY 4: The Reasi Police have seized some arms, ammunition and explosives from a hideout of arrested Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist Talib Shah in Draj area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.
The seizured arms, ammunition’s explosives include six sticky bombs, one pistol along with three magazines including two of Glock Pistol and one of 30 bore pistol, one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher along with three UBGL grenades, 75 rounds of AK 47, 15 rounds of Glock pistol and four of 30 bore, besides and IED remote with antenna.
These recoveries followed disclosures by Talib Shah during his questioning.
He along with another terrorist was apprehended by local villagers at Tuksan in Mahore tehsil of Reasi district on Sunday morning.
Shah a self styled LeT commander who was on the run following apprehension of his two associates, Mohammad Shabir and Mohammad Sadiq from Rajiuri district’s Draj area during a joint operation by police and security forces last Tuesday. Five IEDs, five remote control devices, 19 cells, a piece of cloth and 10 fuses were recovered from them.
The J&K’s Lt Governor Manoj Sinha had announced a rewards of Rs 5 lakh for the villagers, saying “the end days of terrorism is not far”. The Directir General of Police Dilbagh Singh also had announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh for villagers who apprehended the terrorists.

Meanwhile, Jammu based Army PRO Lt Colonel Devender Anand attributed the apprehension of two LeT terrorists by villagers at Tuksan to “security forces assisting villagers in organising themselves into Village Defence Committees and giving them training to operate/fire rifles’’. “The villages have become aatmanirbhar in the true sense to defend against terrorists,’’ he added.
