NEW DELHI, Apr 17: President of India, Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were among the country’s top most dignitaries, who attended the reception hosted this evening by Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh on the occasion of the wedding of his son Arunoday.
Also present were leading Ministers of the Union Cabinet including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Dharmendra Pradhan, Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Giriraj Singh and others.
In a rare show of goodwill for Dr Jitendra Singh, cutting across party lines and representing all sections of society, the reception was attended by virtually all the Union Ministers, more than a dozen Chief Ministers from different States, Governors, Lt Governors and top Opposition leaders of the national level.
The get-together, which virtually represented ‘who’s who’ at the national level, was attended by a wide range of VVIPs from all walks of life, including politics, bureaucracy, cinema, medical profession, industry, sports etc.
Nationally known figures present on the occasion included, besides BJP present and former Chief Ministers, Opposition leaders including Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Omar Abdullah, Sajad Lone, Altaf Bukhari, A.H. Ansari, Shashi Tharoor, Minish Tewari and Deepender Hooda.
Kangana Ranawat and Hema Malini were among the top Bollywood stars who attended the wedding reception along with noted film maker Madhur Bhandarkar.
Notably, Chief Ministers of almost all the North Eastern States including Pema Khandu of Arunachal Pradesh, Biplab Kumar Deb of Tripura, N Biren Singh of Manipur, Prem Singh Tamang of Sikkim and Conrad Sangma of Meghalaya attended the wedding reception.
Governor of Assam Prof Jagdeesh Mukhi, Governor Rajasthan Kalraj Mishra, Governor Punjab Bidauria, Lt Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Manoj Sinha, Lt Governor of Ladakh, R K Mathur and Lt Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal were among the Constitutional heads attending the wedding reception.
Sportsmen including Khali the Great Wrestler were also present.
Eminent medical professionals from across the country attending the wedding included Dr Randeep Guleria, Dr Naresh Trehan and Dr Nikhil Tondon from Delhi, Dr V Mohan from Chennai, Dr Shashank Joshi from Mumbai, Dr Anuj Maheshwari from Lucknow and Dr Banshi Saboo from Ahmedabad.
