The ‘Sikh Sangat’ will leave Jammu on April 11.
Jammu: More than 100 devotees of Sikh community from Jammu and Kashmir will pay obeisance at different Gurdwaras in Pakistan on the festival of Baisakhi.
In-charge of the yatra section, District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, Shamsher Singh Chauhalvi told News Agency that 105 devotees from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir have got a visa to visit the historic Gurdwaras of Pakistan.
“Ahead of Baisakhi festival, a batch of 105 devotees on April 11 will leave from Jammu for Amristar from Gurdwara Baba Fateh Singh, Gandhi Nagar and will further leave for Pakistan via Wagah Border,” said Chauhalvi.
He added that on April 12, the devotees from Jammu and Kashmir along with other devotees from different parts of the country, will cross the Wagah border.
“A total of 118 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir had applied for the visa out of which, 105 got the clearance (60 males and 45 females),” he said adding that devotees will visit Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Gurudwara Nankana Sahib, Gurudwara Dera Sahib and other famous Gurdwaras in Pakistan.”
“The passports with visas have been handed over to the pilgrims,” he added.
“There is great enthusiasm among the devotees. All devotees have been asked to reach Gurdwara Baba Fateh Singh, Gandhi Nagar at 8 pm on April 11 and after offering Ardas (prayers), the batch will be flagged off to Amritsar,” he added.(Agencies)
