JAMMU, FEBRUARY 24: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday made a major arms, ammunition and explosive haul from a border Treva village in R S Pura sub division’s Arnia area and claimed to have foiled a major terror plan prepared by Pakistan based leadership of Lashkar-e-Toiba/The Resistance Front at the behest of Pakistan’s ISI, sources in the police said.

The Border Security Force had on the intervening night of February 23-24 noticed a drone from Pakistan flying over the international border in adjoining Arnia and R S Pura sectors. As it opened fire on it, the flying object returned to the Pakistan side.

However, while BSF personnel launched searches in areas along the border, Jammu police along with Special Operation Group personnel also launched searches in nearby areas of Arnia and R S Pura sectors. During searches, the police found three boxes containing arms and ammunition in Treva village which were dropped by a drone from Pakistan.

The boxes contained three remote controlled IEDs, three detonators, three bottles of explosives, one bungle of cordex wire, two IED timers, one pistol along with two magazines and 70 rounds, besides six grenades.

The dropping of this huge consignment of arms and explosives depicts a major terrorist plan of the Pakistan based terror outfit (LeT/TRF). With the recovery of this huge consignment, a major terror plan has been averted by the alert troops of J&K Police, police said, adding that an FIR has been registered at Arnia police station and further investigations are in progress.
