JAMMU: The Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of Jammu and Kashmir police, specialized unit to check rising menace of drugs, achieved another success on Wednesday after it foiled a bid to smuggle Hashish worth Crores of Rupees.
ANTF Jammu received specific information that one Truck bearing registration no. JK18B-4710 driven by Arif Ahmed Wani S/o Abdul Rashid Wani and Amir Hussain Khan S/o Mohd. Afzal Khan, both residents of Bandipora Kashmir which is coming from Kashmir valley and going outside J&K UT via Jammu has concealed large quantity of Hashish in the above mentioned truck.
On this information a case FIR 01/2022 u/s 8/20/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu and ANTF team immediately swung into action and laid Naka at NHW-44 near Environmental Park Jammu. The above mentioned Truck was stopped by the ANTF team and during its search, 29 Kilograms and 800 grams of Hashish recovered by the ANTF team which was concealed in the cabin of the Truck. Driver along with the other person were arrested in the instant case and truck has been seized. Anti Narcotics Task Force is investigating further links. More arrests are expected. Anti Narcotic Task Force has appealed general public to share information regarding such drug dealers so that appropriate legal actions are taken against them and this menace is uprooted from our society.
