JAMMU, DECEMBER 14: One militant was killed on Tuesday morning during an encoubter by police and security forces in Poonch district’s Surankote area.

Pointing out that the encounter was in progress, sources said that an Ak 47 rifle along with four magazines have been seized so far. Two to three militants were believed to be trapped at the encounter site.
The operation was launched followed specific information about the presence of some militants inside a dhok (used by Gujjars and Bakarwals for stay at higher reaches during summers) at Behramgala. When the police and security forces were searching the area, militants opened fire at them making the former to retaliate.
