Jammu: N S Jamwal , Inspector General BSF Jammu Frontier and son of soil has been promoted to the rank of Additional Director General BSF and posted to the prestigious Western Command Chandigarh.
Jamwal is having an illustrious carrer spanning 37 years of pure professionalism and expertise in different fields.
He joined the BSF in 1984 as Assistant commandant, Direct Entry and served in Eastern and Western frontiers of BSF such as Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram & Cachhar, Jammu and Kashmir, North Bengal and BSF Academy Tekanpur.
He also served in NSG on deputation in year 1995 to 1998. Sh N S Jamwal has been a research fellow at IDSA Delhi and an excellent trainer also. He is also qualified a course on Terrorist Assitance Programme at Washington, USA and International Border Security and Management briefing programme at International Defence Trg, in UK. He was a commando instructor and ‘black belt’ in Karate.
The officer was awarded President Police Medal for Meritorious service in 2006 and President Police Medal for Distinguished service in 2016.
He has been conferred with Ati Utkrisht Seva Padak , Secretary commendation Roll and many Director’s General Commendation Rolls & appreciations. Sh N S Jamwal, IG has to his credit about 15 National / International Publications.
He commanded a very challenging frontier of Jammu for more than two years now and the Jammu frontier has achieved tremendous success operationally under his command. The International border has been kept well guarded and the nefarious activities of adversary were repulsed vehemently.
He was instrumental in robust Border management on Jammu border.
